First off best of luck to you and your family with the storm, hopefully you wont get hit too hard :) Youll be in my thoughts
I cant imagine healthwise going through a hurricane as I know what a rainstorm does to me! Sorry to hear that it is wreaking havoc with you :(
Sounds like you are having a ball with the kids! Continue enjoying them!
oh no be safe im also preparing here (new iberia, la) in a flood zone and today im feeling ten times worse also. Not to mention fighting with all the ppl for gas / water..its a big pain in the butt!! Good thing i went when i did though barely anything left..i hope it misses us and stays east! lets all blow it away from louisiana!! Goodluck with your cheer kids !
Hey sweetie, I am praying for you! I too am preparing for ISSAC! I live in Bama and I feel for you having to try and do all the prep work with a sinus infection! It's bad enough with the regular HA's that I have been having for days on end! We have started football here so I understand the crazy! I will be praying for you and your family as I also make preparations for ISSAC. Hopefully he will calm down and do neither of us ne harm! Praying for ya!
Awe, ty all so much, and best of luck to you and your famalies as well. Didn;t realize you guys were so close to me. I pray it turns away from all of us and just dies. I sure don;t like the looks of this thing though. It just keeps putting those lines right in new orleans. GRRR. At least they closed the schools. Makes things easier to prepare....knowing they are here safe with me. I have family in bama and mississippi and I am just not liking any of the results that could happen for any of us. Take care and you guys are in my prayers.
Glad to hear that you are mostly doing well!
I find that here in NC, the mold is pretty bad, & affects sinuses, etc. Then add atmospheric pressure to that.
I presume you are always prepared for hurricanes. I always have hurricane food (previously known as blizzard food, lol)!
Hi so glad to hear from u....but sorry to hear u r suffering from this weather pattern Issac.....I pray u all r safe and it is not the storm they r predicting.....
Hope u r not over doing it, but it does sound like u r having fun : )
I am hoping this will downgrade and not do any damage! I am praying no severe damage is done and will be praying for all of you that are in the southeast! LA especially if he doesn't turn! I too have family in Bama, Mississippi, Louisianna, Georgia, Florida, Texas, Tennessee, Etc!!! and all of y'all! I will be keeping the Lord busy with my prayers that's for sure! Take care and keep me posted on how you are all doing! I will be tracking the storm and praying for all! (((Hugs))) and prayers!!
After a VERY long day of hurricane preperations, I'M STILL NOT DONE !! There is just so much to do and now this stupid storm is heading straight for me. We aren;t evacuating though. We are staying put. I am in a high spot thank goodness, but trying to find gas...even last night was hard to do. Issac is slowly but surely getting stronger and slowing down, which I am not confident the pumps can keep up with. Trying hard to get everything done, but I am so done and tired. They made my hubby work today so it is on me to pull the outside together. Roads in fromt of my house are all jammed with people running, and it s a good thing I got all of stuff together last night as far as food and water, because there is none to be found now. Anyone, just wanted to update everyone. The winds are just starting to pick up and it isnt much, but by tonight we should have a good bit more winds. I have to go finish securing everything that could blow away, but I don;t know how long I will have power so I wanted to say hi. I will keep you all posted, and hope that you are all safe. I think this storm is mroe dangerous than they are leading us to believe. Best wishes to all of you battling the storm and or chiari, neither are fun, but they are worse together.
Thinking of you!
(been through 3 hurricanes; numerous blizzards).
Oh sweetie, I am watching I was hoping it would blow itself out! They always underplay these things! Know you are in mt thoughts and prayers! You are right when yous say battling these two together are hard! Please take care of yourself and your family, I know like here gas stations are packed out, grocery stores are empty! Stay safe, I am so glad you are on high ground as I am so far as flooding goes! Please keep me posted as you can and I will try to do the same! (((Hugs))) and prayers!
I am not as worried as most. My home survived katrina with light limb damage only...no water, so I feel confident that we will be fine. Generator is ready and everything outside is all in my shed or in the garage so that leaves nothing to fly around. I also have great neighbors and they are all prepared and are ready to bunker down. watch out...they neighborhood is on the prowl....lol. I am so glad that you are on safe ground as well. I have lived through hurricanes andrew, ivan, rita, katrina, and gustav, and those were much worse than this one is supposed to be, So I am confident we will be ok. My biggest concern is keeping these three munchkins occupied and keeping them from being afraid. Loves and prayers to you all !!
We staying also my mom will stay with me they are in a low area but we will be on the good side of it unlike you . i will keep u in my thoughts and prayers!!!! Watch out for the tornadoes prob ur biggest threat on that side of the storm ): keep us updated!!
I have been through many as well! I am glad the neighborhood is on the prowl! Lol! I know the feeling with trying to keep little ones occupied and unafraid! After the tornado in 2007 here he has been a handful when it comes to bad weather! I had to hide my weather radio so he couldn't hear it if it goes off! That thing changed all our lives forever!
We will be playing some games, and doing homework...I will be at school with him tomorrow...It will not be easy but it eases his mind for me to be there so that's where I will be!
Love and prayers to you and all that are in the path of this storm!
I am 100% miserable lately and I haven't been in much pain before. I'm in Youngsville, which is south of Lafayette. I don't remember being THIS sensitive to weather changes. My second surgery was in April, so maybe it's because it's not completely healed.
I definitely understand the pressures of trying to prepare when you feel like crud! Lafayette has gone mad! Gas, water and propane are running out. We are in a good area and have retention ponds in our neighborhood (one is in my backyard) so we shouldn't flood!
I hope everyone stays safe and starts to feel better soon! We only have 2 more days! :)
Ugh we have been in a drought we had rain and my head was killing me! Super sensitive postop to the weather. I can't marine how the hurricane is affecting our head....ouch. How close are you to the storm? Be safe!
Melody, I was never this sensitive until post op either. I am in River Ridge, which is about 7 minutes from downtown NEw Orleans. We are already getting the winds. IT will be rough, but I have been through worse. I guess you could sa ywe are as close as it gets. They expect us to be in the eye wall. We are watching BOB BRECK, and he said he thinks it is safe to bunker down and ride it out as long as your not out and about and stay indoors, so I think we will lose power, and it will gets lots of howling winds and dumping rains. I will keep yall updated as it gets closer until we lose power, but hopefully that will be a while from now. Ugh...It just started to rain here, and I believe we are seeing what is called the calm before the storm. I however can;t believe it is hitting us on the anniversary of katrina. That just blows my mind. Hope all of my coastal chiarians stay safe through all of this. Don't forget to fill up your bath tubs and dump your ice makers, and turn your fridges and freezers to their highest settings.
Love and (((hugs)) to you all.
Praying for ya'll down there! I'm hoping it looses some gust as it gets closer! I dont think I saw, or overlooked it, are you on antibiotics for the sinus infection? Severe sinus infections are a HOT button for me as they believe thats what caused my meningitis and Dx of Chiari...I had to go on 3 different ones before my body responded...if not, please be sure to get to a Dr. as soon as its safe to do so!
Watching the updates and keeping the south close to my prayers! Keep us posted!
As the storm approaches....my head sure does feel it. GOOD LORD help my head, this is hell. The storm should be making its landfall within the next 2-3 hours. So far we still have lights and water, so I will try and post as long as I can. Pray for some relief for my head please. Geesh, I have never felt pressure like this. Hope my gulf coast chiari family is feeling better than I and fairing the storm well. Loves
Something I found that seems to work since this last ER visit...I was told to take a antihistamine along with my pain meds...I only had ones that make me drowsy so I took b4 bed, and found I slept better, ,woke a bit more refreshed and this is helping my PND and my usual morning aches and pains....this is after I stopped the pain meds, I continued with the antihistamines as I wanted and needed the sleep....ne way I feel a diff even when it is going to rain.....so if u do not take these, do ask ur Dr b4 trying....but this is working for me.
wow, great idea selma! I knew someone that did this with her migraines but I never thought to do it for the CM aches and pains...been dealing with this alot myself as of late. Will have to give it a try!
Make sure it will not cause an interaction with ne other meds u r on first...so talk to ur Dr, I was and am just amazed at how much better this helps me sleep....and feel over all.
BTW- this was suggested by my PCP to help with the meds as with a person with EDS each time I take meds I have reactions and he felt it may help reduce ne effects of itching etc,....
we are now without power, so this is probably my last post for a while. we are still safe and doing fine. winds are at about 65 mph. I love you all and hope that you are all safe and doing well. Selma, my dr told me to take an anihistamene, so I have been on one for a few days. It does help, but cant take a pm right now, have to be alert to the weather. Take care and I will talk to you all asap. Hugs and love my chiari family.
