2 yr old masturbates anus in bathtub

My 2 1/2 year old has a fascination with sticking his finger and his toys in his anus while in the bathtub. If i step out of the bathroom for a minute he quickly begins to stick his finger in his butt or a toy. He is usually standing up with a huge erection! When i come back in and I see him he quickly sits down, tries to pull the curtain closed and tells me to get out! (we live in a small apartment so i'm not far and can hear him when i step out for a minute) I'm concerned if this is normal...or if its possible molestation...or i'm just being paranoid. I don't think its worms because he only does it when in the bath. I asked him why he does it and he said it feels good but he doesn't want me to see him doing it. Please Help!

I would have to agree with margypops you really should contact your Doctor to see what he or she thinks about this.

I see you are his Dad , does he do the same thing when his mom is around , it does seem very young for this kind of behavior I dont think you are paranoid I would check out who he is alone with ..it sends a red flag up to me ...it may be a good idea to ask your Doctor what he thinks ...

I would ignore it for now, kids this age explore their bodies a lot. But I would tell him that the toys could hurt him and then he may have to go to the hospital if he continues using toys to do this.  Then just ignore it for awhile and see what happens, hopefully he will get over this fascination.  Take care.
