When very young children's wishes are frustrated, such as when they do not receive something they want, they are often overwhelmed with the anger that comes with having their wishes frustrated. Tantrums are the behavioral result of this rush of anger. Simply carry on with whatever you are doing, ignorring the tantrum. By ignoring I mean do not respond to your child during the tantrum. And by all means do not give your child whatever had been denied. This will only serve to reinforce tantrum behavior. If you want a handy and reliable guide to managing your child's behavior, obtain the book SOS Help for Parents.
Well. #1 one DO NOT GIVE HIM HIS WAY!!!! Under no pressure from him. He has obviously accoplrshed it more times than you care to admit to if he does this. My boy did this also. He even tries it at a family get together. My oldest sister (40) got down on the floor beside him and kicked a scremed and whined right along side him.! He was shocked he never ever did it again! At least not around her! I did it to after that. Felt stupid but it cured it fast. :)
