5 year old potty tips

My boyfriend's daughter has been having accidents almost daily for the past  two years, she also denies them. She will be 5 next and starting elementary school. We had a baby last november, although I don't feel he's the reason for the accidents, being as she was having them before I ever got pregnant. I was curious if there were any tips to help make her want to go she doesn't seem bothered by having the accident and will wear the panties (when we aren't aware of the accident) I ask her consistently through out the day if she needs to potty, and remind her to go. I've tried sitting down and talking with her on multiple occasions, and I'm running out of ideas I'm looking for more of a way to encourage her to use the potty. What can I do?

Talking with her about the matter will not yield many dividends. Rather, schedule times for her to use the potty, regarddess of what she thinks about it. If she thinks the scheduled uses are a nuisance, let her know they can cease when she is able to master the toileting challenge on her own.

my daughter is 5 and a half and jus starting wetting herself. however, she only does it at her grandmother's house. i think its because she feels that she will not be in trouble and she is just being plain ole lazy. she has never wet the bed or herself ever before. but this is the second time this month. she knows that we are expecting another baby girl. could she just be acting out?
