Black tounge

I woke up this morning with a taste like I had eaten a tire ( I assure you I did not), when I look in the mirror, I saw my tongue was covered in a blackish grime. it was only on my tongue, and there was a slight fissure too. I had a bad stomace ache last night, and took something like a Tums for it. I am worried, can you help?

I am not a physician, but I was curious about your symptoms, and did a little research.  I find it interesting that a lot of discussion points to yeast (or Candida) involvement.  I used to assume that yeast infections were only the vaginal infection we all abhor, but my son has some severe gastrointestinal issues and is Autistic, and yeast (Candida) is a constant companion for us.  Here are some websites to check out:
