While the GI distress could be a psychological symptom, I doubt it is. I would recommend an examinatiion by a pediatric gastroenterologist.
My nephew used to get sick all of the time, like your son it was a daily thing. After looking into several other things we fund out he had a gluten alergy. Unlike other food alergy's gluten is in many things so it is hard to diagnose. We changed his diet to a gluten free diet and he has been fine ever since.
just a thought...does he take any medication for his allergies. my son use to have odd, frequent vomiting due to the singulair he was taking for his allergies.
My son has occasional vomiting and we found out has has reflux or GERD. we take him to a pediatric digestive dr. we manage the symptoms with his diet and elevating the head of his bed. sometimes he also need medication.
Hello, AidanTiarra! Thanks for your comment! I hadn't really thought of anything like this and that would TOTALLY make sense especially since some days seem worse than others. I have an appointment for both of my sons with the allergist in July and I will DEFENITELY be bringing this up. I guess the reason I didn't really think it was something like that is because it is, most of the time, only in the mornings. I would say that at least 95% of the time this occurs in the mornings only which really puzzles me. Thanks so much!
Hello, momof1son! Thanks for your comment. He was on singulair several years ago but became somewhat immune to it, it just wasn't helping anymore. We have tried Zyrtec and Claritin but the same is happening with those, they just aren't working anymore. I haven't given him anything for several months now and the pediatrician has finally set up an appointment with an allergist so hopefully this will help to isolate where the problems are coming from. Thanks for your reply though, I will also bring this up with the pediatrician as this stomach problem as been an issue for quite some time now.
