Aggressive 3 year old

My 3 year old boy is in daycare and are very aggressive towards his classmates.  I have witnessed him attack (and I mean attack) one of his classmates without any provocation.  This was very hard for me to witness seeing that he is a
sweet boy at home.  Not aggressive towards his younger brother at all.
From speaking to the teacher he regularly "attacks" the children in this class.  Normally scratching in the face, punching, or biting.
Should I have him evaluated, and should this be in the group context, seeing that he is quite calm at home?
Please advise how we have to manage or eliminate this anti social behavior.

I know this is tough for you and sometimes other parents start to complain. I would contact your pediatrician and see if they have any suggestions.

Yes, he should be evaluated.  My son was a sweet darling at home at the age of 3 as well, but when he went to preschool (one morning a week)------ he was a different person.  He wasn't aggressive but growled at people and had other issues.  He was diagnosed at 4 by an occupational therapist and he has sensory integration disorder.  We've done OT since then with great success.  I do not know what is going on with your child but I would talk to his pediatrician.  Some type of evaluation is in order be it with an occupational therapist or a child's developmental specialist or a child psychotherapist.  There is a break down in how your child is handling his emotions and impulse control.  You'll probably have to spoon feed these things to him as it is not coming naturally.  good luck
