Daughter Wetting Pants

Hi
I have a daughter who will be 4 in November. She is peeing her pants daily atleast 2 times per day and never at night. Is this normal? We just started using a sticker chart and that isn't even helping. She tells me she can't feel it. I am so tired of this. Its driving me crazy. Also there has been no changes to our lives. She did start school this year however she has been wetting her pants before that. Could she have something wrong with her? If so what? Is this behavorial? I am just so frustrated and tired. I need help...
Thanks

This is my dd as well. 4.5 years old and peeing her pants. She will stay in wet pants as long as she can before I find out and have her get a new pair on. What's worse is that her vulva and bum are red and sore all the time from sitting in wet underwear.Tonight she pooped on the floor. She holds her bowel movements for as long as possible because her bum hurts so much. Guess she couldn't hold it any longer and had an accident. I feel so badly for her because she cries about it and thinks she is in trouble. I wish there was a way of helping her. She feels so ashamed.

After reading all these comments i thank god i'm not alone in this battle!! I have 4 children 3 girls 1 boy 9,5,3,2. Emmi my 3 yr old daughter who will be 4 in Nov is making me nuts and I can't figure out what I'm supposed to do. Both her older sisters never had this problem. She did potty train before both of them age wise but she did everything before any of our other children age wise... she was running around my house at 9 months, other than that they grew up in the same house same family only thing different is she got a lil brother instead of a sister!!  I have tried rewarding punishing talking i have even cried and begged her to stop! Please someone help us!!!

My daughter will be 5 in April, for the past few months has been peeing in her pants, but only during the day and always poops on the potty. We have tried everything from taking her toys away to giving time out and making her clean her mess after she does this. My husband and I don't know what else to do, we even had her at the doctors and she doesn't have a UTI, and the doctor told me it was when we bathed her and she played in the tub with the soap in it that was doing this. We started letting her take showers,we even got a seperate shower head for her and she still pees in her pants, but only during the day, she will wake me up in the middle of the night and ask me to come with her to the bathroom. I honestly think it is pure lazziness on her part. I really don't think it's the parents fault at all. I really hope this stops soon as she will start kindergarten in the fall. Good luck to all parents out there with this problem and I know what you are going through.

I'm not an expert or anything but my 4 year old, completely potty trained, started this right before her 4th birthday.  Waiting till the last minute then wetting herself. After the third day I was sick of it too.  So, this is what we did and it worked for us.
I told her if she did it again she would have to clean it all up then she would have to go take her nap early (she hates that).  She did it again, so she had to clean herself up, redress, get all her clothes rinsed out and into the laundry room, clean up the floor, etc...then down for her nap she went.  I supervised her doing all this but never lended a hand. She cried, complained and was grossed out, but it worked she has not wet her pants since.
(We also did this when we were potty training her in the begining and she kept doing #2 in her pants. We had to do it a couple times thougth.)

Hope it helps someone.

Our daughter just turned 4 in September and has been doing the same thing for a few months now.  Just when we think it has passed it starts again!  At first she starting pooping in her underwear but just this past weekend she has begun peeing as well.  She did it on our living room floor yesterday and I just had to strip her bed because she did it there just before bedtime.  I told her it was time to go potty before bed and she said she didn't need to.  Then I explained how we all need to go potty before bed so we don't have any accidents in bed.  Then she asked me to help her so I took her hand and when she stood up there was a huge wet spot on the bed.  A couple of days ago she had pooped herself.  It was in the evening when we were busy preparing dinner and cleaning up, etc so we didn't notice any smell and she didn't tell us anything.  We discovered it when getting her dressed for bed.  Her bum was so red from having pooped in her panties she literally screamed her head off because it hurt so much while we were cleaning her.  Interestingly, it was after this that she began peeing herself.  We have no clue what to do as this definitely appears to be intentional and she has been fully potty trained for over a year.  Nothing in our lives has changed except my sister and her husband moved away but we didn't see them too often anyway.  The only other thing I can think of is that perhaps she is angry about not seeing her Daddy often enough as he works shifts and it is often just me, her and little brother who is almost two.  But Daddy has had this schedule since she was one.  We are at our wits end!!  She goes to daycare but has only had a couple of accidents there.  She goes to ballet class but always tells the teacher if she needs to go potty.  I am so worried about her going to school next year but deep down I really feel this is directed at us but I can't figure out why.  We have tried everything from taking things away to rewards and then taking back the rewards....from what I have been reading there do not appear to be any real solutions to this but it does feel a little better to talk about it.

Perhaps Sisters it is something that 4 year old girls do.  I have potty trained both of my daughters (2 and 3) completely in panties befor two, and the eldest who will be 4 this november has been wetting herself on and off.  But more consistantly waiting until the last min. as she gets over.  How are you all doing with your children? I have decided to change the diet, give her less liquid drinks and substitute what ever is better for her well being.

Peace and Love

After reading the above coms I feel a litle better to know it`s not just me or my 4 year old daughter that have the same problem, i have tried everything possible and still the wet pants keep coming, even today at a friends party which took place at a farm, my daughter went down the slide followed by a wet river, yep she had done it again, even though I had asked her and taken her to the toilet, my only other option is to try the doctors to see if there is an infection if not where should I go from here, can anyone help.

I have a 4.5 year old and she was completely potty trained from the age of 2-3 and then all of a sudden started peeing in her pants during the day and at night. She wouldnt pee during preschool but an hour after she would get home she would be  wet, even after just getting off the pot. She didnt have any accidents day or night for a bout a 3 month period and now she is doing it again but she doesnt do it at night anymore. I dont know what these kids problems are. I have taken her to the doctors, sticker charts, high fives, taken important things away It drives me nuts that she smells like pee all the time. I know this sounds mean but my friend would put her daughter in a cold shower when she would pee in her pants and it only took 2 showers till she was broken of the habit. I tried this with my daughter, it broke my heart but thats what worked for that 3 month period. Ughhhh

I have a daughter who just turned 4 August 9th, and is starting to pee in her pants. She is going to the same day care she has been going to since she was born. She is now in the 4K program. She has grown up with the kids in her class and the teachers. She does not pee in her pants at school and does not pee in her pants overnight. She is an only child and gets our undivided attention. It is driving my wife and I up a wall.

My daughter will be 4 in November as well, she has been completely potty trained and has recently started the same thing!  It is KILLING ME.  she will go without undies and still pee all over herself.  I even started putting her in DIAPERS so she would maybe think oh i don't want to be a baby ya know.  But NO she will pee in them and then put them in the trash.  I have had enough of it as well!  So maybe it is just something our daughters have in common.  I just don't know what to do either.  I have a 1 year old son, and my daughter and she is just absolutely driving me nuts.  On the other hand though she will poop in the potty, she does that great!  Just doesn't pee there and its is horrible!

Are you using training pants/diapers or underwear?

Hi
I am going to talk to her doctor again this Friday. But there has been days when she uses the potty. I have had her checked 3 times for UTI's and they always came out negative. I did talk to her doctor about this last time and she said if it continues we should see a specialist. I am just so tired of changing her 3 times a day ...

Has she ever gone through a period of not peeing in her pants and being completely potty trained?  My daughter has never wet herself overnight.  Even as a baby, she would even wake up with a dry diaper.  But when I started potty training, she would have accidents, although never over night.

I would say if she has never completely potty trained, then it is possible that she is just taking longer than others.  Try talking to her pediatrician about it.
