Does my five year old need psychological testing?

My five year old peed in a cup and had his 2 year old brother drink it.  He said he thought it would make him sick.  He seems to do things, not necessarily melicious things, without an idea of the consequences.  He is very bright and loving in most situations.  What can I do?

Little boys trying to get other kids to drink their pee is surprisingly common.

Disgusting,  but common. And Momagain - your memory of mudpies strikes a very distang vague memory of mine.  I think I was involved with something like convincing someone to eat a mud pie.

This behavior is not tolerated,  tell him that,  and look really angry and upset.

This will pass.  ;D

I loved my little brother (3 years younger than I) and I still do. When I was little, I remember making a mud pie and trying to convince him to eat it. I told him it was a brownie. I just wanted to see if I could get him to do it. Thank God he didn't.

Kids will all do crazy things and it really is a wonder anyone survives their childhood. I would just explain what could have happened and why he should not do this. Life is just too serious.

Am I the only one that has done anything like this to a sibling?

Sounds to me as if his mother should be more vigilant.  And, dole out appropriate punishments when deserved.  (I just read the above posting - seems that the advice is the same).

Possibly doing this to get attention, as negative attention is better than none, supervise what he does, when they are playing,  and as there could be some jealousy issues here focus on his positive side ,he is feeling left out ,make sure he knows that that kind of behavior is not allowed.
