Dreams of Father Abusing Her

My niece is having dreams that she's describing to me. This is along the lines of what she told me.
"I'm having different dreams that all end the same way. During the dreams, I make wishes. All of my wishes are effective until it comes to my dad. In one dream, I was jumping on a trampoline in my front yard, and my dad shoved me down. I said, "I wish dad would be gone.". He laughed and said, "Your wishes don't work on me." He continued to bully me around. He started tickling me. The tickling felt really real. When I woke up, I still felt somewhat of a tickling sensation or that kind of winded feeling you get from laughing. Except in my dream, I wasn't laughing when he tickled me. I cried. Eventually, I said, "I wish I would wake up." I went to a room lined with red telephones. There were other kids standing holding phones. I walked up to one and picked it up. A woman said.. "You are going to wake up in 5..4..3..2.. and I yelled "WAIT NO!" and dropped the phone and ran. I heard a buzzing noise.. then I woke up. All of my dreams end with the telephones."

Is it normal for her to have a dream like this with her father bullying her?

What do you know about her father?  In general,  does he seem like a bully?  In general,  does it look like he's bullying her?

I'm a great believer in dream symbolism.  The "father" may not be her dad,  but another authority figure.  The phones might be her trying to get the communication out,  but she can't.

So.  Does it seem like her dad is a bully?  If it doesn't seem like that he's a bully,  it sounds like she's got some other dream that represents a father figure,  and she's trying to communicate that she's feeling bullied.

I know in her dreams she's seeing the abuser as her actual father,  but that doesn't mean he's in real life bullying her.  Like the dream that you are out of control in a car and can't see over the steering wheel and the brakes don't work isn't about an actual car,  it tends to be a dream about feeling out of control in life.

In real life,  from what you can tell,  is her father a bully?

The man she sees in her dreams are in fact her actual dad. He yells and has a short temper, but he has never actually hit her.
