Fear of studying

My son is 4 years and 4 months. He is studying in junior Kg and till last year in nursery he was know aplhabets and numbers till 20. Atleast saying number till 20 correctly. After I put him in big school at junior kg level, school started building up pressure about alphbets as they were going to start with vowels and then two letter words , they finished three letter words and numbers till 50 and number names till 10. OMG and they have greater number smaller number and all other studies tooooooo . Today my son rejects to know and recognise any number and recognises only A and B. He is already going through Occupatinal therapy for ADHD found at moderate level. Looking at him I get very nervous. Because of this this rejection I get irritable because I knew he could recognise it earlier and now he simply says I DONT KNOW. YOU SAY FIRST AND THEN I WILL SAY. I agree I had been and still m very hard on him. I m sorry for it, but it’s repeatitive. I promise myself to be good like always in studies also but I loose it when he says I don’t know.

Oh wow.  kids with ADHD can a very high level of anxiety as a co-disorder,  and that is what is beginning to happen to him.   When you are anxious, you can't think - among other things.  

And, you are not helping the situation.   You need to do things with him in small segments.  No more then several minutes at a time.  But more importantly, you need to make sure the school knows he has ADHD and compensates for this.  If they do not, they can ruin him.  

Also, do you attend his therapy sessions?  You really need to learn all you can about ADHD.  You are going to be his main and perhaps only advocate for a long period of time.  You really need to understand how this affects him and how learning can be accomplished with this.  If you have questions about how to help him, feel free to contact me on the other site where I am also the CL and deal with this alot.   https://www.medhelp.org/forums/ADD---ADHD/show/175
