Finding Poop in Ten Year Olds Pants

My ten year old son has had issues with poop in his pants.  I believe it is contributed to being lazy and not wanting to stop his activity to take the time to either come in and go to the bathroom, or when he does go, taking the time to wipe properly.
We have tried numerous actions to make him realize the importance of wiping properly, and or taking the time to come in and go.  Our huge concern is that he will be entering middle school this year and want to save him from being absolutely humiliated!!  This is not an everyday occurance but it sometimes occurs often.
Do you have any suggestions for us, or should I have him evaluated at a doctors office for this?  We are extremely frustrated but at the same time want to help him.

Thank You.

i was adopted. would do the same thing, not stop activity and have an accident in my pants. it is not laziness. your child is trying to have control of his/her life for some reason. in my case it was from abuse. no parent wants to believe this. dont blame your child and have a professional check him/her out, and go from there!

Google encropesis - it sounds like what he has.  He needs to see a doctor - he is not just being lazy - it is a disorder.
