How my 1 year old will react to new baby

I'm a little nervous, because my first, my son, won't realize what's going on, and he is a but advanced for his age, and is showing a lot of aggressive behavior lately, I should be in my beginning stage, we've been trying for #2, but I'm more worried how he'll react when he knows he isn't the center of attention anymore.

Babies of one year are still very self-involved. They are busy examining their fascinating toes and squishing their food. My son was born when his sister was 15 months old. I slept him in a baby carriage so that I could wheel him from room to room. My daughter didn't seem interested in him and the first real notice she took of him was one day when he was fussing. She looked inside the carriage and said, "Oh, look, Mama. Doggie." When he started to crawl around she had a playmate.

I think jealousy is more likely when there is a bigger age difference. Had my daughter been a year or two older there may have been a problem. However much of that depends on the personality of the older child and how the parents have prepared him for her for the new arrival. I always told my kiddies that they were going to have a baby sister or brother, not that I was going to have a baby. As I got bigger and bigger they would get more and more excited. Once I went to the hospital in false labor. When I returned home without a sister or brother the were all disappointed and one was really angry.

Its normal for him to feel upset, he sees another child getting all the attention he used to receive , it will pass and all you can do is make sure you and his Dad are giving him extra attention, focusing on his positive side and praising him when you see him doing something right.Try to keep him the center of attention, Dad can play with him a lot, make some one to one time for him without baby there so he knows he is still special .Good Luck everyone goes through this and most times it works out okay ..
