How to understand your child behavior and teach them discipline?

As i was reading in one article about child discipline, it was mentioned that many times, child behaves strange and we instead of understanding the reason behind it, scold them, which can lead to adverse effects on your child's behavior. So what do you think about this and how can we tackle such situation. Please share your suggestions.

I am also the CL on the child behavior forum, and that is a question that more parents should ask.   Of course, why your child is misbehaving is very important.  How you discipline a child with adhd could be very different then how you discipline a child who does not have adhd.  Although the good discipline practices will also work for any situation.   Anyway, here is a very good link that I think will answer a lot of your questions.  The link is...."discipline without yelling"     https://www.additudemag.com/discipline-without-yelling-calm-parenting-for-kids-with-adhd/?utm_source=eletter&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=parent_july_2018&utm_content=071418

Please let me know if you have any questions.  There are several good books I can also recommend depending on the situation.  Best wishes.
Opps, got my communities mixed up.  I am also the CL on the ADHD forum.   But, I think my answer still holds up.....at least until I get more information.
