Jealousy

Hi. I'm having trouble with my 7y/o. He is emotionally sensitive, has sensory sensitivities, speech issues, low self image, highly competitive, social issues and very hard on himself. Here's the problem, a few days ago he went to his first cub scout pack meeting. At the meeting they were giving out awards. He broke down in tears because he didn't get an award. Later, I explained the kids that received awards, worked very hard to get them, and this was his first time at a meeting and he wasn't really a cub scout yet. After the meeting we talked more about his emotions. He explained to me that he was jealous. He understood everything about the kids earning the awards, he just doesn't know how to deal with the emotions that he feels.

How can I help him learn to control his emotions??? He can identify them on his own, but can't control them

Simply allow him to have his emotions its okay to be hurt when things dont work out , dont feed into it, less words, hes normal.you dont need to help him control them.
