MY 2 YEAR OLD IS BEING INVESTIGATED BY DETECTIVES FOR TOUCHING A 2 YR OLD GIRL IN HER PRIVATE AREA

I got a call from my child's daycare today that a detective came by asking the director my contact information because a little girl that is in his class told her parents my son touched her in a private area. My child has not been exposed to any sexual abuse of any sort that I am aware of. I am under the impression that he touched her because it looked different than his and somehow they may have ended up in the bathroom together. My question is "Is this normal 2 year old behavior in regards to sexuality and the parents are just blowing it out of proportion OR should I be concerned. Also what will be done in regards to this investigation"

Thanks.

It is presumed that he didn't touch her at all. In fact I believe they are turning the investigation on the father. Thanks for your help.

The situation sounds benign and likely just requires some limit setting - i.e., telling your son not to engage in such behavior. I cannot comment on the investigation because I don't know the specifics. But it will not be surprising if the matter is dismissed with very quickly.
