My 5 year old daughter suddenly refusing solid foods

She says she is scared she will choke if she swallows and says she feels an itchy sensation in her throat almost like phlegm. We are so worried this is 100% not what we are used to. She has always been a great eater. Does anyone have any similar experiences? Is there hope for us?

Did she have a choking experience?  My son did and then had gag memory.  Any time a food of similar texture hit his throat, he'd gag.  Make small food for now and cut into small pieces.  My son got over it.  If she has phlegm in her throat, you may want to ask her doctor.  Perhaps she has reflux or something like that.  Just keep her nutrition up with a modified diet for a bit.
