My son has alot of issues and I need to know what it is!

My son has been going to a behavioral doctor for his issues since he was 3 1/2, he is now 8. It went from ADD to  ADD/ADHD-CT within 6 months. Over the years we have added more and more diagnosies to his list. It now consists of: ADD/ADHD-CT; ODD; OCD; episodic mood disorders; depression; anxiety; and something else I cant remember, sorry . His Dr says he is to young to to be labeled as Bipolar. We have had CAT scans, and MRI's to rule out any brain abnormalitys. He has been going to therapists for 3 years now. He hears voices in his head, he is very argumentive, he picks at his fingers until they bleed, he pulls his hair not out but constantly pulls it, he pulls his socks up all day to the point the hems rip off them, he can't concentrate at home or at school, he is extremely moody, he has severe anxiety, he gets confused very easily, he wont make eye contact, he is constantly says he is going to kill himself, he says our lives would be easier if he was gone, he feels like "everyone is out to get him". I am to the point I dont know if he is bipolar, schizophrenic, or something else all together. He has episodes where he cringes in corners like we beat him. He cries ALOT! He doesnt know when to stop. Grounding him doesnt work, spanking him doesnt work, taking things away doesnt work. He also has almost like memory loss he cant tell you what we got into a fight about an hour ago, but its only with arguments and getting in trouble he cant remember. Then he will argue with me about the things I tell him he did or said. He just doesnt remember. The voices in his heas tell him to do bad things, but that is all he will tell me. He says he doesnt see them, but he knows they look like robots. He is on concerta, singulair, and vitamin D in the morning. (He has a vitamin D diffency) at night he takes clondine (3) intuniv, trazadone, and meltatonine. And he still wakes up every night. He cant stay asleep at night. He has been on Abilify, vyvance and resperdal just to name a few. We have tried at least 10 ADD/ADHD meds. We have tried at least 5-6 different antiphyscotics. We just cant find a good combo. So basically any advice as to what this stuff is??? I so need help I hate seeing my baby in pain, I hate hearing him say he feels like he is exploding from the inside out. Help me.

*He also has a 504 plan at school and they are working with him so well. He can be just a normal kid. No speech problems, no walking or balance issues. He plays outside rides his bike, plays the PS3 and the WII. But these problems are always lurking in the background.

   One of the main reasons I mentioned SIDS is that it is kind of new and can look a lot like ADHD.  Didn't get much press till recently, and I only really found out about it due to one of our posters "specialmom".  I have included a link to one of her posts about it that will give you more info.  
   There is definitely treatment for it.  Meds are not helpful.  An occupational therapist does the training.
    I do like the sounds of your new therapist.  It will be interesting to see what she recommends once she gets to know him. I like the fact she is not rushing into this.  He is on quite a cocktail of meds, but it kind of sounds like some progress is being made.  Actually, his sleep habits sound pretty good.

Thanks for the website I went and looked and he has some of the issues but not all, can you be like borderline?
•
Do you wonder why they are excessive risk takers - jumping and crashing into anything they can ? (he doesnt do this anymore than his friends he plays with and there are some things he wont do because hes scared so I dont see this fitting him)

•
Why they can’t do puzzles - write well - or find the coordination for riding a bike or hitting a ball?  ( he deffinately cant write well WOW, he has played baseball for 3 years now and does good no issues with hitting or catching and he can ride bike like nothing else)

Why they cry or cover their ears with every loud sound - even vacuums, toilets or hairdryers ? ( he does cover his ears but only when his sister is crying or he is crying not with anything else)

Why they don’t like to be touched or can’t be touched enough? (ive never noticed this but I will pay more attention)

•
Why they will only eat macaroni and cheese and pizza? ( he is a very picky eater but he does have a wide range of stuff he will eat)

•
Why they will only wear certain clothes or need you to cut the tags out of their shirts? (he has no prefrence on clothes as long as they are cool :) I do have to remove all tags because they bother him)

Ever wonder why you can’t seem to calm them down or get them to sleep?
(getting him to sleep isnt a problem, making him stay asleep is and calming him down is a huge issue)
•
Why they won’t put their hands in anything messy or use glue, Play Doh, or play with mud? (my son loves to get dirty the dirtier the better)

•
Why they fear playground equipment or being tipped upside down? (he doesnt have either of these issues at all)

•
Why crowded stores bother them so much leading to major meltdowns in public places? (crowds dont bother him never have)



*He has some not all like I said could he be borderline? Is there a certain treatment plan I could ask his Dr abt next time we meet? I have never heard of this issue until today so I will be sure to ask his dr. Thanks for helping me:)

Nope I am not offended at all, military doctors are not so great in my experience. We see an off post child behavioral specialist. I love her she is fantastic! She is just reluctant to diagnosis him with anything other than mood disorders because we havent been seing her for very long. His therapist is actually at his school so he can go talk to her whenever he wants, which is great. My husband is military, I am not. He is in Special Ops so he only deploys for 60-90 days every 8 to 9 months. Our last 15 month deployment was when Brian was 4-5. so its been awhile. He has these issues at school with paying attention and doing his work and staying on task and focused. This school year he has had only one breakdown at school, he seems to have them more at home. Every Dr we have had says this is normal he is more comfortable and in his element at home so it is to be expected. We have had sleep studies and talked about every sleep issue and had everything looked at. They are saying its his meds that make him not beable to sleep. He takes his meds at 7pm is in bed by 8pm and is up by midnight then back to sleep by 12:30 so hes not up for along time. and then he gets up at 7am for school. Even with thr waking up I think he gets enough sleep. But then again who knows I am not a Dr :)

   Oh, one other thought.  I noticed that you posted from Fort Campbell.  Are you and your spouse both in the military and have you been separated a lot due to this?  I guess I should also ask if the docs you have been seeing are military docs and if so what there specialty was.   Hope this doesn't offend you.

   Not being able to sleep at night will certainly magnify his problems.  I would assume that you have also looked at the things that would cause this - swollen adenoids, tonsils, etc.

     Kind of confused about your last paragraph.  At school does he appear to be pretty normal?  Not talking about the "speech problems, no walking or balance issues", but more how he appears to the teacher and the kids around him.
