OUR KIDS

I wanted to do something a little different.  We always hear the bad parts about being a parent to our children, why don't we share the good parts.  This way we can all hear some nice things about eachothers children.

I'll say the way thing I am thankful for is that my girls have eachother.  Growing up I had two older brothers and two younger brothers, so I didn't have a sister.  The best thing my and husband and I did for our 5 year old was give her, her sister.  (although right now she may disagree).
Yesterday marked the 6th anniver. of 9/11.  The one major thing about that date that I remember was that was the day I found out I was pregnant with our little girl.
My two girls are as different as night and day though.  One has blond hair and one brown, one is out going and the other is quiet, one is athletic while the other rather sit and have books read to her.
I wish we could've had one more child, but to be honest just too expensive.
Here is something really good though, I DON"T HAVE TO BUY DIAPERS ANYMORE!!!!!!  Yeah!
My 2.5 year old is officially potty trained.

I gotta say it must be nice to have boys with the pee breaks.  So much easier then girls.  Girls you have to find a potty that isn't gross, then put the toilet paper on the toilet.  I am always saying don't touch A thing to my girls when we take them into a public restroom.
I just found out today that our apple orchard may not be around anymore.  This past year we had a strange year and had frost after the apple trees bloomed.  Well, hardly no apples or peaches.  The owners said they are 75,000 in debt and considering bankruptcy.  Too bad because that orchard has been around for probably 70 years at least.  They also do the corn maze like you said.  I hope they make it because I know what will end up happening.  A subdivision will go in there.

We don't have an apple orchard here to tour--but we do in October have a corn maze to go through every year they change the theme to walk through...if you get all the punches on your card there is a discount on pumpkins you can buy..also there is a hay maze to go through and a petting barn--along with a play area where they can jump off of hay bales and a rope maze and pedal tractor paths--so that is a lot of fun and takes a few hours to get through--usually about three. Then of course we have to pick out pumkins to bring home to paint.  With boys the side of the road pee stops are alot easier.

Well this IS A FUN POST! GIVES US A CHANCE TO REFLECT ON THE POSITIVES!

WELL WE HAVE 4 CHILDREN 3 GIRLS AND ONE BOY. 11,7,5, AND 3. GIRL GIRL BOY GIRL.  WE WERE LUCKY ENOUGH TO FIND OUR HOME IN 93 ON SOME ACREAGE, THE FAMILIES AROUND US ARE THE ORIGINAL HOMESTEADERS AND THEY HAVE 100S OF ACRES THAT WE GET TO ENJOY. WE HAVE FAR OFF NEIGHBORS , NO KIDS CLOSE BY . THE CHILDREN HAVE LEARNED TO DEPEND ON EACH OTHER AND THEIR IMAGINATIONS FOR ENTERTAINMENT. ITS SO MUCH FUN TO WATCH THEM PLAYING ON HAY BAILS, RUNNING IN THE FEILDS AND DIGGING IN THE DIRT (ESPECIALLY WHEN IT RAINS...LOVE THE MUD!!) . MY GIRLS ARE ALL UNIQUE BUT VERY SIMILAR. THE 2 OLDEST ARE EXACTLY HOW LAURA DESCRIBED HER GIRLS, 2 VERY DIFF PERSONALITIES, THE BOOK LOVER AND BOOK HATER! THEY TOO LOOK DIFF, GREEN EYED ,BOWN EYED, BLOND HAIR, STRAWBERRY BLONDE BUT, THEY BOTH LOVE HORSES , DANICING (THEY ARE ALWAYS PUTTING ON SHOWS FOR US!),DRESSING UP AND PLAYING OUTSIDE WHETHER RAIN, SNOW, SLEET, OR SUN THEY ALL LOVE IT OUTSIDE!!

LIKE MY DAUGHTER OFTEN ASKS ME ABOUT PERIODS AND WE WENT TOGETHER TO GET HER FIRST BRAS!!! MY MOM NEVER DID THAT, I WAS ONLY AWARE OF A PERIOD WHEN ONE DAY I GOT IT !! LOL. WELL IN DEFENSE OF MY POOR MOM, HER MOTHER DIED WHEN SHE WAS ONLY 11, SO IM NOT SURE SHE KNEW WHERE TO BEGIN WITH ME!! SHE IS OBSESSED OVER HORSES.EATS, DREAMS, SLEEPS, READS,(SHES THE ONE WHO HATES TO READ! BUT IF IT’S ABOUT HORSES SHES ALL OVER IT!!)THINKS ABOUT THEM ALL THE TIME. SHE WANTS TO BE A HORSE VET WHEN SHE GROWS UP. HMMM IMAGINE THAT!!

OUR  7 YEAR OLD, I OFTEN FEEL BAD FOR HER, NOT SURE IT’S NECESSARY BUT, SHES NOT THE OLDEST,SHES NOT A BOY, AND SHES NOT THE BABY. I OFTEN WONDER IF THAT MAKES HER FEEL DIFF. WE MAKE SPECIAL EFFORT TO MAKE HER FEEL SPECIAL ( WELL CUZ SHE IS, NO MATTER WHAT!!) . SHE IS THE BIGGEST HELPER AND USUALLY NEVER NEEDS TO BE ASKED MORE THEN ONCE, SHE IS SOO CLEVER AND QUICK WITTED WE GET SUCH A KICK OUT OF HER. SHE ABSOLUTELY LOVES ART ,DRAWING AND PAINTING. MOST PEOPLE THAT HAVE KNOWN HER HER WHOLE LIFE, OFTEN SAY THEY HAVE A SPECIAL PLACE IN THERE HEART FOR HER. THIS MAKES ME WARM AND FUZZY ALL OVER!!   SHES ALSO OUR LEAP YEAR BABY BORN FEB 29TH 2000!

I LOVE HAVING A BOY AND HE IS ALL BOYS:SWORDS, GUNS,ARMY GUYS, DINOS, HUNTING, FISHING AND OFCOURSE TAKING EVERYTHING APART !! NEVER TO PUT IT BACK TOGETHER SO WE HAVE PARTS EVERYWHERE! AND HE IS THE BIGGEST SNUGGLER OOOHHH I JUST LOVE IT, COULDNT ASK FOR ANYTHING BETTER. HIS NICK NAME IS SMILEY AND LITTLEMAN!

AND THE 3 YEAR OLD, WELL SHE MAKES ME WANT MORE!! I LOVE HAVING A LITTLE ONE IN THE HOUSE. SHES MY BUDDY. AND IS USUALLY CONNECTED TO MY HIP! SHE IS USUALLY INTO DORA THE EXPLORER AHHHHHHH! WE HAVE SOOOO MUCH DARN DORA STUFF I CANT HANDLE IT!!! BUT RECENTLY (THIS LAST WEEK) SHE HAS BECOME FASCINATED WITH THE WIZARD OF OZ. SHE HAS THE GLITTER SHOES AND WEARS THEM AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE!! SHES A GIRLY GIRL . ALWAYS WANTING LIPSTICK ON (CHAPSTICK!!) AND CHANGES HER CLOTHES (MORE THEN THE WORDS IVE TYPED) EVERYDAY! LOVE IT LOVE IT!

My son will soon be three years old, and he is the light of my life! He is very well-behaved, intelligent, and a goof-off! He'll do anything to get a laugh--he'll most likely be a class clown in a few years!
He is definitely 100% boy. He loves anything gross--boogers, spitting, licking things (ugh), jumping on the furniture, rough-housing, boo-boos that bleed, mud/dirt, and last but not least, passing gas.
As for his favorite activities, he's a movie junkie (he gets to watch one a day), reading books, playing with Hot Wheels, anything with dinosaurs, pirates, farm life and John Deere tractors (my mom has a small farm with two Deeres, sheep, dogs, and chickens--the chickens are his favorite), and marine biology (yep, you read it right! Ask the boy anything about ocean life...he even knows about bioluminescence in deep-sea fish).
He has a green blankey that is getting pretty ragged looking as it goes with him almost everywhere, and he likes to tuck me in with it when I lay on the floor to read him his bedtime stories. He's so sweet!
He's very outgoing and makes friends with anyone. No one is a stranger to him--don't know if that's really a good thing, but I don't discourage it. Everyone, and I mean everyone, takes to him and loves him within moments of meeting him!
I took him for a ride in a kayak and a canoe this last weekend at a church picnic. He thought that was the coolest thing. Then I had a hard time getting him out of a kayak (one that was not in the water) and literally had to drag him away kicking and screaming. Guess I'll have to get a couple of kayaks for us in a few years, when he is big enough to operate one himself. I look forward to it!
I almost have the diapers done for--he only wears them at night. So I don't go through them very fast as he only wears one a day.
I'm a single mom and have full custody of him, but he sees his dad at least once a week. He really loves his daddy, and I'm so glad he does, because my ex doesn't seem to try very hard to be a good dad and connect with our son. My little boy is just so loving and giving. I just pray that one day his father won't break his heart and leave me to "patch it up"--although I'm sad to say I'm prepared to do just that.

The only issue I am having is my daughter will hold it till we get home, because she thinks she is going to fall in.  (haha)  I think I am going to put a small potty seat in the jeep whenever we go on litt trips so that she has a clean place to go potty.
I just love it though I haven't bought diapers in three months.  I have been buying those things for almost six years.  Although now I have to pay for my 5 year olds lunchs at school so I'm not saving any money.  Oh well.
You should go apple picking if you have a place where you live.  So much fun for the kiddie's.  My daughters have a blast.  Last year my 5 year old was standing under one of the trees and an apple fell out of the tree and hit her straight on her head.  (couldn't help but laugh)

your funny.  (about the bedtime part).  Sounds like you have yourself a mamma's boy.  Those types can make the best of husbands when they get older.  I think it is very important for a boy to have a strong relationship with his mother, just like I think it is very important for my daughters to have strong relationship with my husband (their daddy).  I think it helps them when they get older and look for a mate.

That is so sweet.  My two year old is like that with her banky (she calls it that) she asks me if I want to share her banky with her.  Aren't those little things so precious?

I have two boys and boy is it great--they are close n ange and for the most part are best friends with each other.  It is wonderful to be able to share something we think that is mundane but through a little guys eyes---it turns into something magical--take a walk thorugh some trees with little ones and they will find a leaf that is the most interesting and discuss how it got there---most days I have to say the kids are a joy and fascinating to wathc grow up.  Yes, to the no more diapers....though be prepared for the side of the road potty stops---it makes trips vvery interesting.
