concerning behavior

My best friends son just turned three. Some of his behaviors have mom concerned. Some may be three year old behavior. Some of his behaviors include...rolling his head while walking on his tippy toes, opening all the drawers evenly throughout the house without touching anything in them. Rotating his arms in big circles or flapping them. Humming day and night. Lack of affection. Will not interact with other children. Organizes his food. Only eats a hand full of foods but shoves all the food in his mouth at once. Plays by himself, mostly in the corner. In the pool will swim off by himself and space out. He organizes everything in straight lines. Avoids eye contact. Does not speak in sentences but repeats specific words hundreds of times. Does not acknowledge colors. He shows little to no affection...Mom is concerned...Any feedback? Thank you...Concerned friend

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
The collection of symptoms invite concern, particularly around the possibility of a pervasive developmental disorder. He should be evaluated by a developmental pediatrician.

Thank you Dr for your response...I will forward this on to Mom. All help is welcome. Mom obviously has no idea which way to turn and Dad is of no support. So...Thank you again! Dar723
