found video of son and friends on computer

Question

i was fixing a problem on my ten year old sons computer and found a video of him and two male friends in the shower,my problem is how did it get there because he doesnt have type camera of any kind,no web cam,no digital,and no cell phone and neither does his friend and the video was done in his privet bathroom and im not sure what to do or how to ask him about it?

all has been taken care of they have been deleted off the computer and camera , dont worry he cant have e-mailed it to anyone because he dont have internet on his computer it's just for games

I didn't actually think it was posted on the Internet, but if it is on your son's computer it could readily be emailed, and it might just be time to dump it off the computer for good.  And the sister's camera also!

thanks for the comments and i talked to all three kids and it turns out one of the friend took his sisters digital camera and filmed it that way and it was just them goofing off,and just so you know it wasn't posted on the internet

I guess there is one way the clip could have gotten on your son's computer if it was filmed secretly by an adult with bad intentions, and that would be if the adult was using it (and threat of exposing it) as leverage over your son.  Sorry to even have to say the possibility, I only mention it in order to help you soften your tone when you give him the bracing speech about how ill-considered clips can go all over the Internet.  Were he to be in a pickle where someone filmed the kids and then threatened exposure unless they did something the bad person wanted them to do, it would be useless and frustrating to have to hear you warn him about people carelessly posting their goof-off selfies.  Stay sensitive to all the possibilities, even bad ones, when you talk to him.

What seems most likely is that someone else filmed the three of them.  The interesting (and important) question is whether or not they knew it.  Adults with bad intentions sometimes have been known to surreptitiously film kids in the shower, if that is the case it would be very scary.  One way to tell is whether the kids in the shower are looking toward the camera or talking to someone who would be holding the camera.  It doesn't seem like they were being secretly filmed because if so, what would it be doing on your son's computer later?  The other option is that another buddy was in the room but not in the shower.  Were the kids in the shower talking to someone else?

I assume there was nothing salacious in the clip or you would have said so.  Even if the filming was innocent and just goofing around, it seems like the time to give your son the speech about how nothing on the Internet ever goes away or stays private, and to ask him how he would feel if this got all over school.
