she has blanket she gets when shes mad or throws a fit and the treat thing didnt work for potty training i doubt it will work for tanturms lol thanks for the advice tho i will give it a try
I have a three year old son who acts like this. Recently I started a couple things that seem to be helping. You may want to try them and see if they work for her. First, give her something to help her calm down. Select a specific stuffed animal or something that she can squeeze when she is upset. Have her do this every time she throws a fit. Also, set up a reward system. I started a chart with blocks for every half hour from the time my son gets up until right after bed. If he behaves during that half hour block, he gets to put a star on the chart. The first one is for if he behaves until it is time to get up in the morning and the last one is for if he behaves in bed when we put him to bed for the night. This seems to be helping my son control himself more because he really wants the stars. I will probably change it to every hour next week or the week after.
her sisters a 9 months old but this has been since she was a year old before the babys i have tired the time outs away from everything and everyone she throws the tamturms when i tell her no or when i tell her cant do something ,like about 3 hours ago i told her she was wrong for hittin her cusin and i put her in time out she sat and kicked screamed and throw things for 45 mins
How old are her sisters , could she have some jealousy, this often happens if a new Baby is born and gets all the attention, the older one can feel left out and she could do with some one to one time , she misses being your baby ...If she has older siblings , are they kind to their younger sister , what are the dynamics between them .What triggers a tantrum can you give us a scenario, to what is happening prior to that and how do you react, are you quiet or do you also get fired up as that could inflame the situation .Use time outsfor the tantrums, sit her on a chair in an area and tell her to stay there when she comes off take her back quietly, till she stops but the best way is to distract her ,before it takes hold.Good Luck
