A related discussion,
my son has bad temper was started.
Regarding your son's behavior problem.
I did an interview on my television program with a gentleman who wrote a book about how we can make ourselves healthy and free of disease (quite interesting really). After we finished taping I explained to him how my nine year old got "ornery" and had a bad temper at times. I explained his diet in detail, which consisted substantially of bread.
The expert suggested I cut out bread from his diet...and sugar.
He is a different child now.
May I suggest a trial of such practice for your child?
Good luck!
im just responding to the email about 9 year old son i to can relate to how you are feeling i have a 11 year old who seems exactly the same all i can suggest is that you try eyeQ capsules it may sound stupid but in about 6 - 10 weeks you will really see a difference good luck
I have 3 children and I took care of my nephew first of all I stop them quick if they feel like they what to holler I'll start to holler to not at them but just like they do kind of like a mok someone if they throw something I'll throw something I'll keep moking them until they see how it looks dont do any thing to abuse him just show him how it looks and if it does not stop then take him to a doctor
It sounds like he's had some stressors in his life, but in spite of that his temper dyscontrol is way beyond the norm for his age. It is particularly worrisome that such episodes occur in out-of-home settings as well as at school. It will be important to seek help, because your son may well display juvenile onset bipolar disorder, other mood disorder, or other emotional condition (Disruptive Behavior Disorder, e.g.). Seek an appointment with a pediatric mental health clinician (child psychologist, child psychiatrist). It may well be that he will require some medication as part of the treatment.
