sleeping on the floor

My 23 month old son has recently started sleeping on the floor. My fiance and I put him to bed in his toddler bed for his nap or bed time and a while later we check on him and he's on the floor. He's been in his toddler bed since he was 18 months and never had this problem until now. Any suggestions on why he does it or what to do about it?

It could be he is not keen on the sides, as he is already climbing out, remove them I think it possible he may stay in bed then ...good luck

Yes the toddler bed has sides, and I do think it may just be a phase. My fiance used to sleep walk so he may be getting it from him. I just thought it was kinda funny.

wouldn't stress unless you have cold floors and he could catch a chill, but I agree with the others...just put a blanket down, give him his pillow, and let him go for it. My 3-year-old sometimes wants to fall asleep on her floor too and makes herself a bed...but she also sleeps in her bed 95% of the time so I don't think sleeping on the floor occasionally will cause an issue :-)

make him a pallet on the floor and let him have at it!  Just a fun thing to do.
