I disagree with the child's mother too. Since she used to do the same thing, she probably thinks it's no big deal. There is so much more medical technology now than when she was little, and there just might be a solution that wasn't available then. Unfortunately, if the mother doesn't see it's a problem, then she probably won't take her anyway.
I would suggest getting out the phone book and call every pediatrician's office in your area and just ask them what they think. Maybe if you get some information together, you can talk her into taking her daughter to get seen, just in case there is a problem.
I'm amazed at how she can just look past these tantrums and not worry! If anything, it must get on her nerves to hear the screaming, but to lose conciousness is a whole other issue that should never be taken lightly regardless.
her mom experienced the same episodes when she was young and saw all sorts of specialists about it but never found a direct answer i agree that it is seizure like i am familiar with medical terminology and such as i have an administrative medical degree but her mom insists its not a big issue but i completely disagree
Has the pediatrician been told about this? Have seizures been ruled out? What you described sounds like a seizure.
