Tiredness

Hi my daughter is tired in the morning and afternoons which effects her school work. She will eat a good evening meal and supper but i have to pester her to eat breakfast and lunch which i thinks leads to poor concentration this is an important school year for her and she is below average.

I am trying to push her a little as some days she finds her school work easy but other days she finds it hard.  So i think she has the intellegence but tiredness leads her to poor concentration  then she finds the work hard.  How can i keep her more alert?

She does get out and exercise i am wondering is she eating too much carbs.  She loves curry, rice, bolengaise, pasta stir fry, bread, home made pies and quiche  not many fruit + veg i cook everything my self i dont do processed food much even pizza i use ciabatta bread or tortille or nan bread for the base she does not eat potatoes only roast on a sunday so it is hard to fill her plate in evening.

Please help i think food is a lot to do with her learning difficulties.  Im also wondering about her bowels i dont think she get enough fibre plus id say at 10 her hormones are starting to kick in she's not had a period yet but she is developing breasts.

Yours Ang

Does she take a children's multi-vitamin due to not eating too much fruit and vegetables? It seem like she does not eat too much meat from what you wrote. Suggest she goes to the doctor to get blood work done to see her vitamin and mineral levels. If some are not normal, then the doctor will treat with supplements. If they are normal, then she needs to get more exercise.
