If you feel that the eczema maybe allergy related, then suggest going to an Allergist for him to get tested so you know for sure. If he is allergic to a food type, then you would know what foods to feed him or not.

I'm not an expert but my 2yr old son has eczema. he had it as an infant so I changed our clothes detergent to a hypo-allergenic or sensitive one as well as his nappy wipes. when he was 1 I gradually introduced normal soaps & detergents. he was fine for a few mths but then it came back worse. I now only use hypo-allergenic detergent & use skin cream during summer as it flares up during the hotter period. A good cream is Dermaveen eczema cream, it won't hurt ot irritate their skin as some harsh creams can. 1-3 times a day on the affected areas & the effect will be seen the following day. I tend to use it every other day and use sorbaline cream on alternate days as this is also non harming. My son has no allergies to foods however eczema is caused by allergies. so it's very likely that her diet is the cause. eczema is directly related to asthma and it is genetic. I don't have asthma but my sister does, although her children don't have eczema or asthma. a chemist can help provide some soothing creams and some info for you to take home. I hope this helps you.
