Hi worried mommy!  I am right there with you, except my baby girl is 10 months old and weighs 14 lbs. and some change.

It is so hard to think that our babies are not thriving!  My pedi told me to give her formula as well, although I am trying to increase her weight w/o doing that.  We are giving it a little while.  I was told to nurse 6 times a day (I do first thing in the AM, snack, right before lunch, snack, right before dinner, and right before bed)  She isn't nursing very well since I started that, but hopefully it will pick up when her stomach stretches a bit.  Then I was told to give 24oz of food a day.  That is like 6 of the Gerber stage 2 baby food jars worth.  That is twice what my girl was eating, so we are gradually upping that as well.  You can also add fat and carbs to her diet by adding in olive oil to her meats, cooking with butter, giving full fat yogurt, etc.

I know it is so painful and worrisome!  Hopefully this gave you some ideas, even if I'm not an "expert!"

Try introducing a 6-8oz bottle of infant formula during the day. You can give the bottle to her after meals (3-4ozs after each meal). This will be in addition to her breastfeeding and her meals to see if she gains any weight.

Her weight is below the 3rd percentile and her height is just below the 25th percentile for her age. Has she been consuming 3-5 8oz bottles of formula a day or is she breast feeding every 3-4 hours? Have you started baby food and how many times a day is she eating? Is she accepting the baby food? Has she been sick lately? Sorry for the questions, however, I need more information. Thank you.
