Chiro for Facet Disease?

Hi,

I'm suffering from Tension headaches which produce a tight "band like " pressure sensation in my forehead. Feels like I'm wearing a helmut that's too tight. Nothing has helped & the symptoms have been constant for several years. Is a chiro adjustment to my neck appropriate for Facet Disease?  Are the results, if any, transient? Anything else you can recommend?

Kim, thanks for your question.

"Facet Disease" was likely diagnosed by a radiologist who interpreted your films. They come up with all sorts of cute/scary names on their reports - this being one for spinal arthritis.

Tight band-like pressure in your forehead is a very common complaint that chiropractors hear often from headache sufferers... and the good news is, chiropractic care has helped millions of people with headaches!

Results could be transient depending on the severity of your condition, and also if you don't follow your doctor's recommendations. You might also get long-lasting relief though, so it's definitely worth a chiropractic consultation.

If this were me, I would seek out a specific type of chiropractor known as an Upper Cervical doctor. You can find a referral in your area on this website:  www.UpCspine.com

With your chief complaint, I think this type of specialist would be your best bet.

Best of luck to you.

Warm wishes,
