Nerve Pain

While I was pregnant I had problems with a nerve running from my lower back (left side) down my outter thigh, around my knee and down my calf! I just started walking 1-2 hours a day, three weeks ago and the pain is back again! It seems to only occur when I move certain ways.. or while lying down. I am on anti-depressants and was wondering if there was anything I could take to ease the pain... and should I stop exercising so much?? Anything? Thank youuu! :)

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Deanna,

Thanks for writing. The symptoms you describe most likely have a physical (structural) origin... and physical problems require physical solutions. I won't recommend that you take something just to mask the pain. Instead, I will encourage you to correct the cause of this problem instead. I recommend looking into receiving chiropractic care, or perhaps trying yoga.

For some people, spinal misalignment can induce those symptoms. Correcting the spinal problem will eliminate the pain. For others, the stretching positions of yoga can be of great benefit. You might consider trying one or both! I hope this helps!

Warm wishes,
