Shoulder pain

I've been to see my chiropractor a few times in the past 2 months, but nothing he does seems to be helping.
He says it's just stiff muscles and he told me to exercise the shoulder and neck.
The pain started in my left shoulder blade then moved towards cuff. My entire left arm feels tingly/numb and cold, and feels as if it's asleep, but I can still feel the pain.
The pain is less at night, but only if I sleep on my right side or on my back...which is hard to do because I always sleep on my left side. The pain is excruciating first thing in the morning and worsens if I bend forward or sit down.
I find that I can get a little relief if I grab onto something overhead and try to pull myself up,but at the same time it makes the arm colder and more numb.
At first the ice packs and heat packs were helping, but none of that seems to help anymore. Something in the back of my mind keeps telling me that all I need to do is to pull the arm out of the socket for pain relief...I know that may sound weird,but...no idea as to what to do.
I have a 7 month old baby that needs to be lifted, cradled, held, etc.,so just standing around all day doing nothing is out of the question...besides...my legs are getting tired lol.
Could someone please tell me why leaning over and sitting should make it worse? I'm talking about bending at the waist, not just bending my neck.
Any ideas of how to ease the pain, tingling, numbness, etc.?
Thank you.

I totally understand what your saying having pretty much the same problems ,  went through this a year ago came out of it but its happening again , I have a great chiro ,  my chiro sent me for xray's I would assume he could send me for a mri , maybe different states are different.
has thoracic outlet ever been mentioned , do a search on it and see if it sounds like you symptoms , I am having the best day I have had in three weeks , i  stand alot too and putting my arms overhead relieves some of the pain so i know what you mean , don't give up on chiropractic care , maybe try someone else

Went back to my chiro and he told me to seek out a doctor that is willing to do an MRI.
He's thinking along the lines of a pinched nerve now. He says that it has to be dealt with before the damage becomes permanent...apparently pain is a good sign that it isn't too bad yet...lucky me...lol

Still don't know how I'm supposed to deal with the pain and discomfort though...I just want to rip people's faces off because I can't deal with the pain...I can't lay in bed forever with a baby.
Can't lay in a tub full of scalding hot water all day either...but it feels good.

Chiropractor did give me some new exercizes to try though,so we'll see how it goes.
Anyone know how to approach a doctor about getting an MRI done? I don't know what to say to them. I don't have a family doc...just walk ins around here.
