Not sure what you are currently eating for breakfast, but I will sometimes make a savory oatmeal. I will boil chicken, beef, or vegetable broth and season with garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, etc. Add small amount of olive oil and the dry oats to the water and cook like regular oatmeal. In addition to this mixture, I have in the past, also added small amount of ground meat (well drained), small amount of shredded cheese. You can also add chopped black olives, mushrooms, or just about anything you can think of that you might like. This also makes a good lunch or dinner as well, and even a side dish for a meal. Very similar to a risotto.
I forgot to add above; if I eat the savory oatmeal for breakfast I will usually eat it with some scrambled egg whites.
