Hi, Your rapid heart beat that happened one time could more  likely be a   sign of Magnesium Deficiency. Most of the population are running low on Mg just because of the quality of the food that we eat.
Search : Rapid heart beat and Magnesium..
Magnesium is a nutritional supplement  called the relaxation mineral. It will help the whole body relax, and more so, the heart. I also helps keep blood pressure stable, blood sugar stable.
Mg Taurate is the kind of Mg that helps the heart maintain its rhythm. Take it as the bottle says. It could possibly make you sleepy, or not.. so if you will start this supplement, take it at dinner time.
When you search on Mg deficiency, it will tell you the whys and how to prevent further heart palpitation. Theres so much info on line.

It would help if you give a background of yourself, your age, what other conditions you have and medications.
Rapid heart rate could be a side effect of some meds.
So you get to understand  whats the problem behind your symptom.
I'm sure you're worrying if that could/would happen again.
Keep us posted.

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hello,
It is unlikely for just one dose of beta blocker to cause heart failure. However before taking it again you should consult your doctor and take it only under medical supervision.

It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.
