Hyperparathyroidism

Can all chronic fatigue and pain I have be due to hyperparathyroidism? I have had 10.5 calcium 3x, PTH of 33 last checked. Has gone up from 26. I feel awful, like death is slowly coming upon me. Thanks to anyone who might help. I do have endocrinologist appt. in December

I have hyperparathyroidism. The laboratory values vary, that is typical of hyperparathyroidism, but in primary HPT, both PTH and calcium or ionized calcium are at the same time high normal or above the upper limit of the ref. range. If one is low and the other high, that is not primary HPT.

I have varying symptoms, but I have many diseases and thus I don't know if the symptoms are caused by the HPT. I have also CFS. My parathyroid hyperplasia will not be cut off. Most often there is an adenoma in a prathyroid gland - and it can easily be taken away.

I suggest you to read parathyroid.com. I hope that you will get help form an endocrinologist.

So I take it you have been diagnosed with hyperparathyroidism.
Your serum calcium was high the last three times, right?, but not excessively high, to require emergency treatment/surgery but high enough to cause-in your case- nasty unwanted symptoms.
(your PTH is normal, but this could be because you were tested for total
PTH and not bioactive, which requires the newer testing).

Chances are that because you likely have primary symptomatic hyperparathyroidism, your endocrinologist will suggest you undergo
parathyroidectomy (removal of your parathyroid adenoma/tumor) once everything suspected, is confirmed.
After that most patients are able to function normally, but without all the
annoying unwanted symptoms, lol!
