Hi. IV Fluids take a shorter time than SubQ fluids to have an effect. So, retesting (if it were me) should be done every 2 weeks, to see what changes if any have been made. The dosage of fluids is entirely dependant on the amount of creatinine, so ... get bloods done, assess suitable fluids dose, start the treatment ... then repeat this process every 2 weeks to see what changes have been made, and what changes to fluid dosing might be required.
Good luck with your new vet.
