do not understand

hi

i had a xray a few months ago, then 3mths after that xray my hospital doctor said he wanted another xray to compare with the first one, he sent me the result which said, there is a shadow on the bottom of the right lung, which could be scaring from a previous infection,
i will order a cat scan with contrast,i had the scan two weeks ago and have just recieved the result,it say's that the report suggests some scarring on the bottom of the right lung and some airway's, on the day of the scan perhaps contained an excess of phlegm , the radioliogist has simply suggested that we repeat the chest xray, when i go back for my next appointment, which is seven weeks time,
i am really worried about this as i do not understand what all this means.

The radiologist's recommendation is sound.  The CT scan confirmed a scar as the most likely diagnosis and showed nothing to be alarmed about.  Since all you will want to know is if there been a change in the size of the shadow over time, a chest x-ray will suffice just fine for this purpose.

It is very likely that you have nothing to worry about.
