Multiple Nodules

Hi. I have diagnosed with multiple pulmonary nodules and has undergo a CT Scan last Saturday. Prior to that, from my first x-ray result (it's actually for pre-employment), they saw fluid or something from my lungs..my lower lungs are weak..and the doctor told me to take Natravox (30 pcs, 3/day for 10days), gave me multi-vitamins because I am getting thinner.. he said it will be ok as soon as I consumed my med..then after that, I just wanna make sure if my lungs are clear, so another x-ray...only to find out that it becomes worst, they saw multiple nodules..so i need a CT Scan to find out what's inside those nodules...if that's a cancer or tuberculosis...my mom and I were scared...

I just want to seek help or any idea here..just for opinions or something... i will be seeing my doctor today...because my CT Scan result were already there..

I do have fevers that keeps coming back...weight loss...back pains or chest pains... hard to breathe... headache..and cough that keeps coming back..

Thanks.

Natravox (amoxicillin and clavulanic acid) is a dual antibiotic; also called Augmentin® (amoxicillin and clavulanate).  This may or may not be the correct therapy for your nodules.  You should have the CT scan but that is unlikely to give a specific diagnosis.  Fever, weight loss, cough etc. suggests that these nodules are probably caused by infection and tuberculosis (TB) is one infection that could do this.  Infection with a fungus can also show up this way.  Whatever the CT scan shows, you will probably need a lung biopsy to determine what these nodules are.

It might be possible to do this through an instrument called a bronchoscope.  If the nodules are large enough, it could also be done with a needle using CT guidance.  Or, it can be done surgically by a technique called video assisted thoracic surgery (VATS).  You are sick and your doctors should not delay in doing whatever is necessary to make a diagnosis.

Please give us a follow-up to let us know how you are doing.

Hi, Doc..I was alarmed by your answer here in the forum..my Doctor is still in abroad, in a seminar or something. Right now, her reliever gave me Fixcom 4 (2 tablets 1 hr before lunch) and Beetab (1 tablet in the morning) and Appebon (Appetite Stimulant).

She said (the reliever), she needs my previous x-ray, so she can figure it out. Coz she doesn't have any idea what's in the CT Scan result.

So, if this is caused by an infection, what type it is? I will research for some over the net about this matter..

Can I go to work even under medication? Coz my Doctor advised me to stop working for 6 months. And some company here requires medical examination, that's why I can't find a job now..

I am still experiencing fatigue, fever, cough, flu, and my appetite is not gaining..I will ask about the biopsy as soon as my Doctor arrive..

Thank you so much for the information and I hope to hear from you soon so I can ask questions still, if you have time.. thanks. Godspeed.

It must be for a long time now...and now, you are evaluated to undergo lung transplant? Is that possible? But, still, thank God that it is not a cancer.. Keep on praying for the transplant..I hope it'll be okay..

As for my case, I still continue to take Beetab in the morning, Fixcom 4 in the afternoon, and Appebon in the evening.

We have to keep on praying. Goodluck and God bless.

I'm being evaluated for lung transplant. I have Alpha-1 Antitrypsin deficiency. That's when the nodule was found. First had a CT scan followed by the PET scan. They then did the needle biopsy wich were all inconclusive. As my lung function is too bad for a resection they decided to wait 3 months intervals and keep watch on it. As it hasn't changed since being found they believe it isn't cancer so I've been given the OK to continue being evaluated. Waiting to go to Madison WI. to meet with the transplant team.

Yes, i do have the results but then seems unclear to the reliever (coz my doctor was away until next week).. so she just gave me Fixcom 4, medicine for TB, for the mean time. I have to go back again to the hospital by next week for a follow-up check up, if that's really what's inside the nodules.. i am not sure yet.. still looking for answers, researching over the net with similar conditions like mine.

You already undergo different or several CTS? It was only my first time.. How about PET? Biopsy? I don't know that yet...i hope my condition is not worst.. i mean, i hope to get a miracle c",) and get well soon..

Thanks, by the way..

By now you probably have the results from the CT scan. I hope everything is OK. I've had nodules for a long time and had a biopsy done on one after a PET scan "lit up" the nodule. After waiting and getting CT scans every 6 months to keep watch on them they have stayed the same the same.
Once again I hope all is well.
