I am not sure what I am looking at and dont have my follow up for a few more weeks yet to go over results... please help me figure this out....

If the fev1 is normal and so is the fvc then the fev1/fvc does not mean restriction. There is a table at the Cleveland Clinic Site that shows this.

These limited test results do not suggest emphysema.  The results are at the lower limit of normal, or lung size with just a hint of obstruction to airflow.  They indicate that you still have good lung function reserve.  You will need additional lung function tests (PFTs) and, if at all possible, comparison with any previous lung testing you might have had done.

Do not panic.  If this still worries you, you may want to consult with a lung specialist.

Isn't over 80 high for the FEV1/FVC ratio?  I thought 80 indicated restrictive disease.  It's best to have something in between those values.  I don't know, but that's what I thought.

These results all look normal to me. When it's above 80% you are fine.  Maybe they told you that so you don't ever smoke again. Was it a pulmo. that gave you the results of moderate emphysema?
