Pain Management Contract

HI Dr.
I am on the patch system and am only using as prescribed (good for me) Recenlty during a Dr visit, my Dr gave me a new pain contract to read and sign. It includes urine testing. There is one sentance I dont understand and I quote.... " Urine drug testing is not forensic testing, but is done for my benifiet as a diagnostic tool and in accordance with certain legal and regulatory materials on the use of controlled substances to treat pain. "
  What the heck does that mean? (not forensic)
Im also worried because I had smoked some pot recently BEFORE I was given the contract. If I was tested today, I would be a positive as I understand it takes 30 days for pot to leave the bodys system(?..true?) But I have not smoked any since signing the contract. (Im not a big pot head anyways,occasional smoker, midnight toker..LOL!)  I absolutly want to be incompliance. Do you think I could be punsihed for a posistive test when i didnt know I was subject to testing a week ago when I smoked some, before I knew about the contract? Are you, or other Dr's leanient on the very first urine test for pot?

Same here. Four months after signing it he springs the pee test on me. I take my pain meds as prescribed. But got freaked out and told him about the line of coke I did the day before!
Now I am treated like a drug addict and he tests for all drugs now! That's what I got for being honest.

IM ON A PAIN CONTRACT AND I WAS NOT TESTED FOR ANYTHING TILL ABOUT 2-3 MONTHS AFTER SIGNING THE PAIN CONTRACT.  BUT IF U R WORRIED THT THEY R GOING TO TEST U SOONER AND THE POT STILL BE IN UR SYSTEM THEN TO BE ON THE SAFE SIDE I WOULD EXPLAIN TO YOUR DOCTOR BUT MOST LIKELY THEY ARENT GOING TO TEST U RIGHT AWAY ANYWAYS... I MIGHT BE WRONG BUT MY DOCTOR DIDNT... WHICH I DIDNT HAVE ANYTHIBG TO WORRY ABOIUT ANYWAYS.  AND THEY TEST FOR WHAT IS PRESCRIBED , TO MAKE SURE U R TAKING UR MEDICINE AND NOT SELLING IT OR WHATEVER AND THEY TEST FOR COKE AND POT AND AMPHETAMINES AND FEW OTHERS . ACCORDING TO MY DOCTOR,,,,, BUT ALL IS NOT THE SAME.. HOPE THIS HELPS U SOME!

I think that they only test it for the meds that you are prescribed.
