Sever Chest Pains

I am 18 years old and I have sever chest pains at least 3 to 4 times a week. Sometimes more. The pain usually comes hours after I eat. It first be in back then goes to my chest. My chest feels like its being crushed. My heart be raising and I be really scared thinking i am about to die or something. I thought it could gas or indigestion but it be lasting for an hour or longer. I throw up and eventually pass out. I called my doctor to get an appointment and I can't get one until April. I feel like I be having a heart attack. When i take deep breaths in when i'm having the pain the pain shoots down my left ribcage. It hurts really bad. I be sweating like crazy and I don't know whats wrong with me at all. I am afraid I be having a heart attack. I have most of the symptoms of a heart attack but I'm not sure. What should I do? I honestly don't think I can make it to the hospital when i'm having the pain since I live 30 minutes away from it. I can barely stand when I be having those pains. What could be wrong with me?

Just to be on the safe side while you are having the symptoms have someone not you drive you to the hospital and get a EKG while your symptoms are still there usually when we get to the hospital are symptoms are all gone so the EKG comes up normal being that it is coming and going is actually a good sign because heart attacks, and other heart arrythimas don't come and go they stay, taking a asprin as long as you are not allergic to it or have a ulcer would be a good thing to do or take two ibuprofens for the pain and see if that works  of course always check with your doctor but try to go when your actually feeling the pain  Good LUCK!!

Hey, I have experienced some similar pain from costochondritis. Its an inflammation of the cartilige in your sternum (bone between breasts) and ribs. The more chronic form, Tietze's syndrome, can cause it to swell which could be the lump your seeing. Just a thought, read up on it.

Hay girl i am having the same problem but i have developed a large lump between my breast. It started on my right side and i went to the er and they stated I had pulled my chest wall muscle however it has bounced between myu tow rib cages and it gets worse when i breath and recently i developed a large lump between my two breast and it extends to my left rib cage. my left rib cage is puffy and swollen and i am concerned that i was blown off with an excuse and you should get checked before it gets worse like me.
Good luck girl

This pain seems to point to "chest wall inflamation". It is not really known what causes CWI but Ibuprofen 600mg is a good way to treat it. I had chest wall inflamation when I was 19 and it was exactly as you describe it...it is really scary but it is not dangerous. When I had CWI I actually went to the ER! When you talk to your doctor mention CWI, hang in there...it'll be ok.
