I have costochodritis; when it first flared up it felt like a heart attack (not that I have had one, but it had all the symptoms). Pain in the chest that went down my left arm and up into me neck. With advil or another anti-inflammatory it can be held in check, but it doesn't ever fully go away. If I vacuum or lift more then a few lbs it flares up, but then I also have lups, OA,DDD, Raynauds, Fibro.
As for the pain meds, if taken as directed you won't get addicted, but Vicodin isn't much help for what you have. Anti-inflammatories are what helps it.
You mentioned that your doctor is picking 'one place at a time'- that is a common approach when a person presents with a number of pains that cannot be tied together. You have to start somewhere, so the doctor might ask you to pick the worst of the pain, and then focus on that.
It is difficult to make a connection between arrhythmia of the heart and costochondritis, which is inflammation of the area where the rib joins the sternum. On the other hand, it is hard to make any connection between pain symptoms and the bigeminy that you are experiencing. I suppose that the pain could make you get upset, and that when you are upset you release adrenaline into the bloodstream, which could make your heart go into an arrhythmia... it sounds logical, but I don't think it is a good explanation-- during pain a person gets upset, but I have never seen a person get so upset from pain that he develops an arrhythmia.
It is also difficult to tie GYN symptoms with the pain you are experiencing.
As for questions, I suggest that you take a notebook in to your appointment, and take notes. Costochondritis will cause pain, sometimes severe pain, that can feel like it is coming from anywhere in the chest-- but it isn't going to cause pain in your throat when you swallow, it isn't going to cause PVC's, and it isn't going to change your menstrual cycle.
I think you made the correct choice in avoiding the pain pills; they can cause problems when given for chronic pain in the absence of a diagnosis. I do suggest that you do your best to keep as active as possible; some type of excercise is bound to be helpful, no matter what cause for your pain is eventually determined.
