Botox with cirrhosis

I get severe headaches, tension, and have had Botox in my muscles at the corner of my head. I was wondering if anyone else has had Botox and is it safe for those with cirrhosis.

Headaches are actually caused by overactive muscle activity. And yes, I too have heard that botox works well for migraine. My brother-in-law has undergone a botox treatment in a clinic in Brampton, Med-Aesthetics and he said it worked quite well for him. But sorry, not sure about its effect in patients with cirrhosis.

Thanks for your question.
I have not heard of any one using Botox while having cirrhosis.
I would follow the guideline for all people with cirrhosis and talk to your liver specialist before having any medical treatments or taking any vitamins, supplements, herbal medicines etc. as any of these can potentially impact the status of your cirrhosis.

From the Botox label...
"Tell your doctor about all the medicines you take, including prescription and nonprescription medicines, vitamins, and herbal products. Using BOTOX® or BOTOX® Cosmetic with certain other medicines may cause serious side effects.  Do not start any new medicines until you have told your doctor that you have received BOTOX® or BOTOX® Cosmetic in the past. "

Only your liver doctor knows that exact status of your liver disease and what may or may not be appropriate for you to do.

Be well.
