Socks for edema&extra sensitive skin

Hi,
I have been looking for socks for the condition of my dad and so far no luck, he has liver malfunction, fibrosis for many years now, his itching has been for long time very strong.  He kind of abused the cortisone creams to ease this discomfort, now his skin is extra extra delicate... he cant use socks for long for this  as also because of the edema the socks give him, very bad marks which produce in more itching.

I tried many compression socks brands, for diabetic, several material. But since he is swollen they dont even go up, or they produce itching,
Any recommendations of brands? , We just have to keep trying :)

Acorn socks are the best! I bought a few pair before getting my edema under control with spironolactone, like flyinglynn

I never could understand why tight socks were recommended. Like shoving your achey feet into a tight girdle

The Acorn socks are loose, soft and a bit fuzzy. So comfortable that I wear them still and often sleep in them

Def ask your father's medical team about a diuretic. I take only 25 mg a day but it does the trick

Has his doctor  prescribed a diuretic for his edema? Is he seeing a doctor for his liver disease? I would ask his doctor for help with this symptom could help alleviate his symptoms.

I have pitting edema from cirrhosis and take spironolactone it helps a lot

Hi there! I'm sorry to hear of the problem.  Have you tried the socks that Walmart sells?  They are for people with diabetes and are sold near the pharmacy.  These are the only kind my Dad can use that don't leave marks
