"Ihave had Cirrhosis that I know of since 1997. My blood platelets have always been low 65 or in the 70's Other than the very easy brusing on my hands and arms I'm doing OK. Is there anything I can do for that bruising?"

You need to be under the care of a hepatologist at a liver transplant center. What do you mean, "I'm doing okay"? Cirrhosis is a potentially fatal illness.   Untreated or improperly treated cirrhosis can lead to liver failure and death.
Cirrhosis of the liver is a progressive disease and will only get worse in time. Get the help you need before its too late.
Are you aware that the longer you have cirrhosis the more prone you are to liver cancer? I hope you are having scans every six months to monitor for HCC (liver cancer). Liver is a terminal illness in persons with cirrhosis. The only cure is a transplant while the cancer is in its early stages.

By the way there is nothing that can be done about bruising as it is a complication of cirrhosis (along with many other which you appear to be unaware of) and happens to all patients when their liver is starting to fail. The only solution is a liver transplant.

Good luck.
Hector

Hi, do you have Hepatitis C?
Have you been to a hepatologist?  If you can treat and get rid of the virus you have a good chance.  If you wait you could end up with end stage liver disease.
I also have cirrhosis and my platelets are low, not as low as yours.  I was diagnosed with transitioning to cirrhosis back in Dec 2007.  I just finished treating almost 6 months ago, I am getting better and hope to be cured, will find out in a couple of weeks
Your platelets are low for someone not being on treatment.  If you do nothing I would imagine they will continue to fall and then you could bleed internally.
I hope you can get some help
Good luck
