my liver enzymes went from 50 to 900? What does this mean

I went in to the doctor because I have sponge kidney disease and was experiencing new pains that seemed weird. Constant fatigue, weight gain. Drinking the same amount of water but peeing less. Side pain especially on the right more in the front. Itching everywhere but especially my chest.

I got a blood clot in hepatic artery once. It shot my enzymes up like that but I was in a lot of pain! It could be many things. You need to follow up asap!

Which liver enzyme? You have posted in the liver cirrhosis forum do you suspect you have have liver cirrhosis? What did your doctor who ordered this test for you say about your test results?

She said she has never seen levels that high and gave me a referral to de a GI Dr. I asked her what it might from or what I should do in the meantime? She said it could be a lot of different things that she can’t say, but that’s why she is referring me. My ALT is 630 and my AST is 900. I don’t know what to suspect it is.
Liver cirrhosis takes decades to develop.

Elevated liver enzymes as your doctor said can have many causes.

I have liver cirrhosis but as the cause of my liver disease has been stopped I have normal liver enzyme levels.

“ Abnormal liver function test with raised alanine aminotransferase (ALT) and raised aspartate aminotransferase (AST) are commonly seen in primary care setting. Chronic alcohol consumption, drugs, non-alcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH) and chronic viral hepatitis are common causes associated with raised ALT and AST.”
