Colds & Adderall

This may be a weird question. I was prescribed Adderall a few months ago for my ADD but stopped taking it because I'm afraid of becoming dependent.

I have a history of REALLY bad colds that turn into debilitating sinus infections. I have constant headaches, stiffness, pain, drowsiness, dizziness, congestion, and more. Coughing, brushing my teeth, and sometimes just moving make me puke mucus at least 3 times a day, usually 5. I get them 3-4 times a year, and nothing works. Decongestants either make me dizzy, sleepy, jittery, and/or do nothing for my sinuses. I've taken antibiotics maybe 3 times in my life, and they've made me vomit more.

I just took an Adderall 20 mg for the first time in months because I couldn't even think or keep my eyes open. An hour later, my sinuses and mind feel clear. I'm a little tired, but don't have the jitteriness, nausea, or headache. I'm wondering if Adderall is related to any OTC decongestant that I could take, or if I should see about getting prescribed it again for my sinus infections? Or is this just a coincidence?

It's not a weird question.  It's due to the vasoconstriction that comes with the use of the Adderall.  Vasoconstriction is the tightening or narrowing of the blood vessels resulting from contraction of the muscular wall of the vessels.  This makes those with sinus issues breath easier.  Another drug , called Dexedrine which is almost exactly the same as Adderall was previously in the past prescribed for this very reason, among other medical reasons.  The over the counter Sudafed which contains Pseudoephedrine do the same thing and are marketed for congested nose.  If you're looking for relief from this I suggest the Sudafed.  It's much safer and non addicting and you won't find a difficult time finding it in a store , though it will be behind the counter near the pharmacist since it's used to make methamphetamine.  Also you'll have a hell of a time finding a doctor to prescribe amphetamines like Adderall or even Dexedrine for a stuffy nose. ~

I've experienced the same thing when taking Adderall. I don't want to sound like a druggie because I'm not, but I feel like Adderall makes people generally feel better about everything.

I was prescribed Adderall 5 months ago, took it for about 3, then stopped 2 months ago. I've been having these sinus infections for about 10 years, just to clarify.
