Getting shooting pains every time I sniff, also getting a weird taste in mouth

Recently over Christmas I had just a common cold, runny nose and sore throat. I sniffed last night and suddenly I got these really bad shooting pains that went through my whole head and lasted for about 20 seconds, I almost cried it was that painful. Today it was the same in the morning but once I got to college I got the most worst headache, I couldn't make certain movements and I didn't have an apitite. I have anxiety and a fear of vomit so I was scared if my headache would course me to be sick so all day my anxiety levels were on a high. Once I got home I ate some pasta as I'm in my comfort home and about 20 mins after I crashed on the sofa. Once I woke up my headache was still there. After like an hour from waking up I started to get this really gross taste in my mouth. I ignored it but as the night went on I started to feel very sick which obviously made me anxious. Is this all normal? I've never had this bad of a headache before and I've never had the problems of getting really bad shooting pains in my head whenever I sniff? Also could I be sick by going through any of this?
Thank you!
