Sinus Infection

As a follow-up to my question as to how to rid of stubborn sinus infection that has gotten on one side  of my nose  worst than better, my doctor has now put me now Ceflin 250 mg. twice a day, plus prednisone for 5 days twice a day .  As previously mentioned, I have taken Avelox 400 mg. for 7 days and 8 days of Levaquin 250 mg. twice day.  I also just saw a report yesterday about antibotics not really helpful for sinus infection.  Have you read this?  I believe it was small study that was done in Britain.  If antibotics are now used to treat sinus infections, how will doctor treat the infections.  Thanks so much.

I have read the report in JAMA that antibiotics and nasal steroids don't work.

The editorial pointed to those patients who could possibly benefit: sicker patients, who had a positive CRP and needed longer antibiotic regimens like the 3 weeks of antibiotics you were prescribed.  This is a common way to treat chronic sinusitis

You should see your doctor immediately about the lip swelling.  That could be an allergy to the ceftin.  Doctors call this angioedema and it can be lifethreatening

After taking one day of Ceflin this moring I noticed a swelling under the middle part of my lip to the edge.  I didn't have it or notice it before going to bed.  Could this be a side effect of Ceflin?  I seem to senstitive to antibotics.

I just wanted to add  to my comment above that my doctor prescribed 21 days more of Ceflin.  Is this a usual procedure of so much antibotic?  I have never had so much antibotic!!  Thanks
