without fever, it's less likely to be bacterial in origin, more likely viral

it depends on how sick the 3 yr old is

it's not that important that the 10 year old just got over bronchitis, that doesn't mean the 3 year old will get it.

if the 3 year old is getting worse, it's worth seeing the pediatrician

I hope I'm not stepping on anyones toes; I've personally been through so much from the commom cold, to quite a few different surgeries, I am not a Dr. but I wanna help if I can. From us patients point of view. Now I have a question for you...My 3 yr. old has aweful head cold; my 10 yrold just got over Bronchitis; should I take 3 yr old to docs to be checked for the same thing? Her voice is really raspy, and we are up all night with croupy cough, No fever though, I feel so bad for her.

kaysav05 is right, some surgeons & anesthesiologists don't mind, depending on the surgery and your pre-existing conditions.

you have to ask them

they're very conservative, and want the surgery to go well, so you can trust they wouldn't put you at risk

That sticks...I had a histerectomy during a cold and I was ok during the surgery, but after that they put me on breathing treatments, while I was in recovery.  The only thing I can tell you is to call the Dr. office and ask them; they can tell you what you should do. Not sure if this will help you since surgery is today. but Good Luck
