clear phlegm with blood

I had cold/flu in Dec 2007, since then i've been clonstantly clearing my throat of phlegm, it is clear phlegm. I'm not sure i'm meant to cough it up or not, but i'm scared to swallow it made me gag and a few months after my cold which scared me.

This morning, I cleared my throat as usual, but 3 times there were traces of blood in it. It's still clear but just with little bits of blood in it, one was a streak of blood. There was alot more clear phlegm.spit than there was blood.

I don't have any other symptoms, i'm really worried but not just over what it might be, but i have alot of panic and anxiety issues and i get panic attacks when i have to see anyone and leave the house, which is why i'm panicing so much about seeing a doctor.

What do you think it could be? My boyfriend thinks it's because i'm always coughing to clear my throat, i dont do a deep cough though, just enough to clear my throat and spit it out.

Thank you

I know about anxiety myself and hate going to the doctor, but sometimes you have to. Blood in your cough sounds like it could be serious enough to need to go to the doctor. Why not have someone close to you go with you.
